Where to stay w/9 mo old? Sanibel, Cocoa Beach or Sarasota

We are looking to go to SW Florida in early April with our 9 month old. I've seen several great hotels etc. on Trip Advisor that look great...however, I don't think a hotel is a good idea on this trip. I think we need a condo, townhome or house. My daughter sleeps a lot so we really want to rent a place with room for us to relax, sit on the balcony, etc after she goes to sleep (or before she wakes up). I'm having a hard time deciphering the many websites with vacation rentals. Can anyone recommend a great place for our family of three? Pricey is ok. We haven't been on a real vacation in over 2 years. We are ready to go somewhere relaxing!

Cocoa Beach is located on Florida's Space Coast, so if you want SW Florida, focus on Sanibel or one of Sarasota's barrier islands -- Anna Maria, Longboat Key or Siesta Key. Find a Gulf front spot so you can enjoy the location from your balcony or lanai while your baby naps. Early April is peak season, I think, but in this economy maybe you can actually find some last-minute deals as we did when we happened upon a $99/night condo in January right on the beach at silver Sands on Longboat Key.

Good point that Cocoa Beach isn't SW! I wasn't thinking when I wrote that. We just want warm weather. :) Thanks for the suggestions.
