Fort Lauderdale hotels

We will be in Fort Lauderdale in Feb for 1 night - looking for a hotel with complimentary shuttle from airport and to the pier.

Has anyone stayed at Days Inn on 1700 Broward Blvd?

How would it compare to the Ramada 84 Marina Mile Blvd.?

All help will be greatly appreciated.

Two of the worst motels in town- you had best up your budget a bit or you will be in a very bad situation.

HI,

I just found the CAMBRIA Suites, it has free transp. to and from airport and cruise terminals. Just opened Jan. 2010, has great reviews. were staying July 10th for one night, $84.00 with a "choice rewards card" hotel chains rewards card, u can get one for free, then get that rate, or regualar rate is 99.00, place looks beautiful!!

It's a very nice hotel but is a new construction in the middle of nowhere with no shopping or dining near it whatsover- which is the case almost all of our 'free shuttle" motels . If you want to shop, you'll need to forget a free shuttle - taxi fares in the tourist area are very low and free shuttle is not a good way to pick a motel here- the ones that offer it usually are not well located for dining or shopping- you'll be standed in the boondocks at the end of your shuttle from the airport..

What sorts of items do you need to shop for?( clothes, toiletries, precruise supplies etc) - as that will make a big difference where you might need to stay.

Thanks for the info.I just found our notes from several yrs. ago when we cruised & saw that we stayed at the Comfort Inn on Sterling Rd. It did offer all the trans. we needed & was w/in walkikng distance of convenience stores & dining. Are you aware of any reason that we shouldn't book there this time?? Reviews on this site vary...I guess Ican stay pretty much anywhere for 1 night!! Thanks, Maggiemay
