Best location for one month winter stay ??

After several Florida trips over the years we are officially ready to take flight as snow birds.......

Looking for a nice quiet condo with great pool and lazy river.......Love hiking, museums, historical sights, boating, fishing.......no interest in golf or tennis......

Looking at the Naples area, but we are open to any other suggestions from locals or travelers.....kind of worrying that hubby will get bored for that long of time, enough to do there or is there any location you would suggest with more to do ?...... Also which winter month will have the warmest weather ?

Have you looked at Jupiter. You have beaches AND shopping malls in the area (such as the Gardens) we have stayed at Jupiter Bay

Yes, we stayed in Jupiter last winter for a week.......it is a really nice area......we visited all of the state parks, but are looking for a property with larger pool and hopefully a lazy river........

Beaches are a plus, but not interested in shopping malls.......

I have personally only seen lazy rivers at hotels, not condos/rentals outside of the orlando area (where Orange lake has one).

Do a search here and in SW gulf forums on Lazy river and you will find a post where someone was searching for a place. If there are any condos not hotels there, they will show up. Your title doens't mention Lazy rivers so you may not have attracted the right people?

If you cant find one, look into a seasonal/year pass to the nearest waterpark?

Falling Waters in Naples has a lazy river, the community is located in South Naples, very near Marco and the Everglades. plenty of non shopping things to do in the area!

Making Naples a home base for the month would be an excellent idea, in addition to the places I mentioned, you are very near Sanibel and Captiva Islands too. The further South you go, of course, the warmer it will be. Feb. and March will be the warmest of the winter months with not much difference in temperatures between the two. Averages are high 70's.

I don't have personal experience with Falling Waters, the parents of our friends rented for 3 months. Don't know which condo they rented, only that they had a great Winter!

You're welcome! There was a recent discussion in the Sanibel forum about the Everglades, great information to save for your trip.

In addition to Falling Waters there is also a lazy river at Naples Bay Resort . They also offer boat rentals for fishing or sightseeing along Naples Bay

Naples has long been a decidedly affluent snowbird haven. An indication is its good orchestra, said to be better than the one in Sarasota.

Jupiter is at the north end of the southeast Florida urban area. Martin County has done its best to discourage urbanization, which resumes in the next county north, where Port St. Lucie is growing fast. In the orchestra business, the small Atlantic Classical Orchestra, which has played in Stuart and Vero Beach, will add concerts in Palm Beach Gardens next year.
