It depends on the part of the state you want to visit. Coeur d"Alene has a big to do on the 4th.

It's one of the most popular tourists attractions in ID.

There is more to Idaho then the south, lol.

Idaho is about 83,570 sq mi/216,632 km2. England is about 50,346 sq mi/130,395 km2. Like Collie says, it really depends on where you are in Idaho and kind of where you are headed after you leave.

Hope you enjoy whatever part of Idaho you visit!

Laughing...Charley! To the OP, we have a friendly rivalry between North Idaho and South Idaho. In reality you will see gorgeous scenery and meet nice folks anywhere you go.

Thanks for your suggestions. Think we are going to go for Ketchum/Sun Valley as we will be travelling up from Salt Lake City. The North is possibly a bit too far even though we like driving. Our main worry is that everything is not closed like they are on some bank holidays here. We've read somewhere that McCall is nice

to visit and as you seem knowledgeable about Idaho would appreciate your opinion. We will probably stay in the same place 6/7 nights and travel about from there.
