travelling by train

Hi,

We are looking at travelling by train from Chicago to Boston in the summer. Planning to do this over a week including stops at indianapolis, cincinnati, cleveland may be New York.Does any one know if we are able to do this? Have looked at car hire but it does seem very expensive. Any ideas would be appreciated. Thanks.

Babe, There is no direct Amtrak service between Cincinnati and Cleveland. There is no direct service between Indianapolis and Cleveland either. You would have to return to Chicago from either location in order to get a train to Cleveland. Check out the Amtrak site:

You may want to check out the Megabus. They have reasonable fares. I know they have routes here in the Midwest, but I'm not sure if they service Boston.

Just curious, why are you visiting Indianapolis and Cincinnati?
