Re: street parking

We are staying at the Intercontinental Hotel, can you tell me if there is any street parking near it? We really would not like to pay $50/ night for parking if we don't have to?? thank you

1. Re: Re: street parking

parking prices vary greatly by day and time. You can search here for lots:

The tried and true fallback is Millennium / East Monroe Garage, about $24 a day. It's a ten to fifteen minute walk from the Intercontinental. www.milleniumgarage.com

If you are coming in the next week, you should know that Michigan Avenue is closed from the river to Ohio until 5 AM Monday, and Wacker will be closed from Michigan to Wabash from Sunday to 5 AM Thursday for a movie shooting. This will affect traffic greatly in the area of the Intercontinental! Have a good map available.

You may also try www.chicagoparkingmap.com. The Sterling at 345 N LaSalle is about a 10-15 min walk west of the IC and is around $8 per day on weekends.

As for street parking, keep in mind that meters and pay boxes are enforced strictly 8 am to 9 pm daily including weekends and holidays and you can only purchase a tag for up to 2-hours.
