Are you going to another place after KY?

Land Between the lakes is very nice, and if you drive threw it you end up in a little town called Grand Rivers that is real nice.

We need to know what direction you're going from Nashville, and what time of year?? If you're going to be on I-24, you DEFINITELY need to take the advice above and visit the Land Between the Lakes Area - but there's a lot more to see there spring/summer/fall than there is in the winter.

Hi Guys,

sorry to be sooo vague!! We will be coming from Nashville toward Louisville, then onto Lexington, but there is no set plan! We are just gonna go with the flow and head to whatever is worth seeing. The lakes sound lovely! We will there during June and we are pretty much into anything but horses (unfortunately!). We love spending time in little villages/towns ( I would say quaint, being a Brit!)and museums.

We have 10 days to get from Nashville - Philli! That's the plan, and we have decided on the north/easterly route to get there!

Ta!

It sounds like you would enjoy Midway. It is a charming small town with a few fabulous restaurants. It's about 10-15 minutes from Lexington.

Also Shaker Town is close to Harrodsburg (about 20 minutes from Lexington).

Even if you don't appreciate horses you would probably enjoy touring Keeneland. It is an historic race track and is considered by many to be the prettiest.

Lexington's downtown library is worth a stop too. It has the world's largest ceiling clock. Quite lovely! If you enjoy bookstores take in Joseph Beth Booksellers. It is usually rated in the top 5 - 10 book stores in the nation. They have a nice cafe as well.

If you like quaint little towns i would suggest stopping in Glendale. Very small town right on the railroad tracks, famous Whistle Stop Restaurant along with many many shops! Not far from Bardstown which is known for My Old Kentucky Home, Abe Lincoln Homeplace not far either. Thers so much within this area to see!
