Bangor, Maine restaurant

We will be flying into the Bangor airport on a Sunday at 6:00pm. Before heading to the Bar Harbor area we would like to have dinner. Any recommendations? Also, is there shopping open on a Sunday evening?

Sea Dog has a brewery pub on the river in Bangor. Not fine dining. But pretty decent.

Not sure what kind of shopping you would be interested in. There is a Bangor Mall, not too far from the airport. A grocery store in Bar Harbor will be open until 9 p.m. or so Sunday night, if that's what you meant.

Thanks Bonniemaev. I was just wondering if there was a downtown area with quaint stores that stayed open on a Sunday evening.

Might you know if there is a decent place to eat outside of Bangor on the way to Trenton, where we are staying?

Fiddlehead, downtown Bangor. A bit more refined than SeaDog but still casual.

No, I don't think there are stores open in Downtown Bangor on a Sunday night. There really isn't anything "quaint" about Bangor -- sorry to the folks who might disagree. Bangor is just a market town for the area -- where the big box stores are. There aren't many decent restaurants either. Nor is there much right outside of Bangor, headed toward Trenton.

Possibly you best bet would be Cleonice in Ellsworth.
