First time in Maine (Portland & Camden)

My wife and I planning a trip to Maine this August. We will spend 2 nights in Portland and 5 nights in Camden. We plan to take a day trip to Arcadia National Park. We are foodies who love history and photography. Any help with suggestions/itineraries for things to do and restaurants to experience would be appreciated.

Portlnd: Old Port District of restored buildings, complete with brick sidewalks; Portland Head Light lighthouse in nearby Cape Elizabeth -- fantastic setting for a lighthouse commissioned by Pres. George Washington; Victoria Mansion in Portland; walking trail around Back Cove early morning or evening for photos; Casco Bay Island Transit District ferry to one of the islands (Peaks is a popular choice) for unique looks (good photos) of Portland; historic Portland Observatory. Would do on-line checks of hours for Victoria Mansion and the Observatory -- not always open every day.

Camden (and immediate area): Camden Harbor waterfront (great photo ops); Mt Battie Auto Road in Camden Hills State Park, just north of downtown on Rt 1, for great views of Camden Harbor, Camden, and immediate coastline; Rockland breakwater and lighthouse at the end (you can walk out to it if you like);

Owl's Head Transportation Museum in nearby Owl's Head (not just old cars -- evereything from bicycles/motorcycles to airplanes); Port Clyde peninsula for photo ops.

Day Trip to Acadia: En route, watch for Penobscot Narrows Bridge Observatory just off US Rt 1 just south of Bucksport -- two-story enclosed observation deck built into the tower of a huge suspension bridge, It shares an entrance gate with historic Fort Knox, another possible visit for folks who like history. (Note: Both the Observatory and the Fort can be Googled for more info).

Lots of great restaurants in Portland and Rockland -- both becoming known as "foodie" towns. Specific recommendations depend a bit on what you're looking for....but innkeepers in both places should be able to help with fantastic recommendations.
