Chesapeake Bay areas

We are a retired, fun loving couple who want to eat great seafood and experience the Bayside sights and summer lifestyle. This covers a large geographical area, the Bay, but can anyone suggest a fly-in and out airport and drive of the Bay Area for relaxation, dining, 4th celebrations,. We have a two-week range of late June/early July and this could include VA and MD. Just need some good locations to begin! Thanks!later June-early July.

Fly BWI, from there you can go ether way. Start in Annapolis, cross the bay and see the eastern shore.

BWI (including Southwest Airlines in your flight search) is likely your best bet, though Raleigh/Durham, DC, or Richmond wouldn't be out of the question. With 2 weeks to work with, I'd include the historical sites around Yorktown and extend the drive as far as the North Carolina Outer Banks. You could time it to hit DC for its concerts and fireworks on the 4th if that's your speed.
