driving Boston to lancaster pennsylvania

Travelling from the UK so please can I ask for opinions regarding the above journey. Firstly, is it possible to travel the distance in a day? Any where of special interest to a family? Some where good to stay overnight and dine out in Lancaster. I'm sure this will lead to loads more questions i.e. budget which is middle of the road, but it's a start. Many thanks

Can be done in a day. Timing to minimize travel time can be tricky as there are a number of major cities and potential rush hours. Normal time is about 7 hours but Mapquest your specific trip. For answers to other questions go to Lancaster forum where you should search prior posts and look at reviews before asking for a specific answer to a general question.

We have stayed at the Amish View Inn which is in Bird-in-Hand. It has a cooked to order breakfast included (omelettes or eggs), and beautiful spacious rooms. They also have a small indoor pool. We found this area very convenient while visiting the attractions. Horse and buggy rides were available across the parking lot, as well as restaurants and shops on the grounds. The inn also has huge picture windows in the back, and you can look out your window and see the sunset and during the daytime, we saw the Amish farmer cutting flax. Highly recommended.
