Travellers cheques

Hi, haven't been to the US for a good few years and I'd like to know if US travellers cheques (American Express) widely accepted in Boston (and the rest of New England)?

As far as I know, they're widely accepted, but I don't think many people use them any more. Credit cards have rendered traveler's checks nearly obsolete. If that's an option for you, it's really a better way to go in a couple of ways (cheaper, easier).

ATM cards are what people have been using for years. In my own trip planning, I have seen few posts on the Paris board about people bringing traveler's checks and then having difficulty finding businesses to accept them. I haven't seen them around for years and haven't used them myself since the 80s.

I don't think they would be easy to use in Boston. There are very few places where you can buy them anymore. Use a credit card or get cash from an ATM.
