Christmas holidays - North Metro Detroit

The person who held Christmas for a family of about 25 people has sold their home and we are looking for a common place to celebrate good for old and young in Suburban Detroit North Metro area. We wanted to rent a large home that had a large kitchen and maybe game room to stay similar to what we had, however we can't find near our area just Port Huron, or Irish Hills. We might consider a hotel with activities as long as we can have a family Christmas meal at that hotel or nearby. Was thinking maybe the Greenfield Village area or Holly/Lake Orion area. Something near family activities such as skiing, or play activities would be good. One family member lives in Grand Rapids so something that way might work too. Any thoughts? Any ideas on restaurants open Christmas day? We want to stay budget family friendly as well.

Have you checked

www.homeaway.com

Or

www.vrbo.com

They are sister websites, but Home away has a map feature so you can zoom in to different areas.

Most houses are going to be in resort areas.
