Cheap Tickets vs NWA

I am just blown away by the prices I am finding on Cheaptickets.com vs going direct with NWA. Can anyone tell me their experiences with cheap tickets. Delays, cancels, etc???

I usually go to a travel site, put in may destinations, travel dates, etc. and to find what works best for me, then I book the ticket at the airlines site.

For some destinations the local monopoly has good prices but for most NWA is amazingly overpriced when one compares their prices to other carriers.

Your post had me curious, so I tried a couple MSP-to-XXX trips that I'm contemplating on Cheaptickets.com. While Cheaptickets had reasonable fares (on Northwest), Northwest's site had the same flights at the same price without the appx. $5 fee cheaptickets adds on. Two data points does not a firm study make, however.

That doesn't mean cheaptickets lacks some good fares or other travel bargains. I'd say comparison shop. Another travel site, consolidator site, or a travel agent might have some deals.

I had one good car rental rate w/Cheaptickets, but it's not been a consistent money-saver for me.
