We will be in Kalispell for a few days at the beginning of July. Are there any natural hotsprings near Kalispell?
There are some incredible hotsprings in the town of Hot Springs which is located an hour's drive south west of Kalispell. Take Hwy 93 south alongside the west shore of Flathead Lake and turn west near Dayton (sorry, no time to check the map just now for Hwy numbers). Hot Springs is on the Montana map.
Once you get to the town, at the center of town is the Symes Hotel and Hotsprings. For $7 you can use their 3 pools. There's a nice restaurant at Symes, but I can't recommend their hotel rooms. Instead, you may wish to stay at Alameda Hot Springs Resort, just 3 blocks away.
Other hot springs in the town of Hot Springs are Leroy's or Rosa's places, smaller pools but very nice. Ask anyone in town how to find them.
Going to Hot Springs is like going to another time zone. No cell phone service, things are slowed down, and people are very nice there. The water is supposed to be some of the best in the world for helpful mineral content.
Thanks for the information!
Oops! Forgot to mention that there is also Wild Horse Hot Springs, located outside of the town of Hot Springs (north east of town). You will see signs for this place from the highway.
Thanks Riverdays and Klownt for discussing this topic!!! We are always looking for new hot springs to go to!
Thanks to Trip Advisor and those who contribute information, as well. It has changed the way we have been able to plan our travel.
Happy Travells everyone!!
Here are some more hot springs in south central MT:
Boulder Hot Springs -- not far from the Health Mine in Basin which is an interesting visit!
The Spa Motel in White Sulphur Springs
Bozeman Hot Springs at the KOA west of town
Norris Hot Springs
Jackson Hot Springs
"Secret" hot springs on 47th (?) parallel in YNP
Chico Hot Springs
Fairmont Hot Springs resort near Butte
I even found this book on Google Books:
Touring Montana and Wyoming Hot Springs By Jeff Birkby
They're all family friendly places to visit. Some have been fixed up, some not. I've been to all of these and they are worth visiting.
