Christmas isn't generally a huge deal in Vegas, unlike New Year's which is a very busy and crazy few days. Some of the hotels on the Strip will have decorations up - Bellagio Conservatory is worth checking out - but compared to other US cities, it's pretty low key. Quite a few shows will be dark then which may be something that's important to you. On Christmas Day itself, a lot of locals tend to hit the Strip to eat so make reservations to avoid potential disappointment.

Weather will most likely be cool in the daytime. You may get lucky and have it so you'll need a sweater rather than a jacket but don't bank on it. Once the sun goes down it can get really chilly, down close to freezing. Snow isn't out of the question.

And for future reference, ask any Vegas questions you may have on the busy Las Vegas forum for best results. This forum for all of Nevada gets relatively few visitors.

Blagger's advice is spot-on, as usual.

I have been in Vegas at Christmas time. I have also been in mid-January a few times. I have seen highs hit the low 70's some days & I have seen high's never get out of the 40's with wind and rain. I have seen lows get into the low 30's as well.

Generally it will be clear and sunny, but not always. wind/rain and sometime snow is possible that time of year.

Pack in layers and you should be OK. Shirts, Sweatshirts/Sweaters, light coat/jacket. I would bring mostly long pants with possibly one pair of shorts as 60's and sunny may seem like a heatwave for you.
