Suggestions for Places to Stay in the Fall

We are flying into Boston and spending the first night there. Plans are to head north the next day, spend some time in Portsmouth and then head to the southern edge of the White Mountains to spend three nights and days. From there, we plan to go south to the the Keene, Concord and Mt Monadnock area for two days and nights. We are traveling in mid October of 2008 and are looking for suggestions for hotels/resorts in the area.

We already have our flights books and have been advised that we should book our hotels soon. Any assistance tripadvisors can give would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

For the Keene area try www.nhlodging.com or the the Keene Chamber of Commerce web site, the White Mts Chamber has an enewsletter you can sign up for with tourism info. The state web site www.visitnh.gov is also a good one.

You don't state when you are travelling, but the Warner Fall Foliage Festival in Warner is well worth the trip. Warner is a classic historical New Hampshire village steeped with history and grace. The Maples is a very nice B&B right in the village and you can walk to everything. Foliage should be top this time and you can easily hike up to the top of Mt. Kearsarge.
