nice lake for family?

Hi. I am looking for a nice lake to take my family for a day trip not to far from the Mass.border. This past weekend we went to Ellacoya state park which was very nice but just a little too far for us. Next time we would stay the night because the little one's can't take the ride. I'm looking for something a little closer if anyone has any ideas. Thanks for any help.

Another option would be Greenfield State Park in Greenfield, NH. But Kingston is probably a shorter and easier ride for you. Check out Greenfield when you fellt he kids are up to it. Large beach and a long shallow area in the lake.

Surry Mt Recreation Area, just north of Keene NH, might be worth a look. There are campgrounds as well as the lake and beach.
