Floating down a river

A few years back we found a river or stream along the side of the road that we were able to float down on our backs for a little stretch. We think it was around Conway, Glen or somewhere in the White Mountains. Does anyone know of a river where it is deep enough to float on without a tube?

Thanks.

You may be thinking of Lower Falls Swimming area along the Kankamagus Highway, near the Conway end.

There are other places where you can get in the rivers and float, dunk and sit. Diana's Baths, Cascade Brook behind The Basin in Franconia Notch, and some places along the Saco River near Bartlett and along River Road.

But the one you are asking about sounds like the one along the Kanc.
