Waterville Valley fall weather

We are thinking about going there in fall. latest date we can get in place we are trading into is Oct 28 for a week. . We hope to avoid any winter type weather. Is that time too late?

We plan to spend week prior on Cape Cod and hope that is not too late.

We can go earlier but it will cost more. But it may be worth it.

Depending on what you consider to be "winter-type weather," not likely. It will probably get pretty chilly at times, but more snow than a light dusting would be unusual. The foliage will be gone. Could you switch your Cape time with your White Mountains time?

Thanks for post. Well the colors will be gone is worse than a light dusting, though a light dusting is starting the winter season. We will have to make an adjustment. Kind of advice I was hoping for.

We have been in NH twice but both in Sept and missed colors then too. Though once was late Sept and they were beginning. We did catch colors in Quebec. Do not want to fly cross country and miss them again.

If you switch NH to Oct 21 would would probably see the foliage in southern NH better then Waterville or the White Mtns.

Right now I can still get into NH in mid-Oct but need to use a whole week, same is true for Cape Cod. I was hoping for less days at one or both.

To add to that we have a a week in early Oct at the Oreg coast that we own and need to use or rent. So needs some planning

Cape Cod- too late for what. The reason the timeshares are available is that it is off season on the Cape and the shoulder between fall and winter in NH. So, still can be fun and the price is right with the timeshares. Hopefully, that will make up for less than perfect weather.

Yes have now figured we can go to Cape after NH and colors. we normally travel in shoulder seasons, not always real pleased with weather but worth it. We usually spend summers in NW..

It seems you are locked into timeshare locations, but unless you can get to the mountains (including Waterville Valley) during the first half of the month, you're likely to see better color in the southern part of the state, as dav4844 suggested. The Monadnock Region would be ideal.
