Avalanche on Mt Washington

First reports said three hikers fell about 800 ft, taken to area hospitals. There were avalanche warning posted.

I heard the news yesterday. Normally the AMC and others attempt to anticipate avalanches and shoot them down. But Huntington's Ravine is more remote and hikers have no business going there in the winter.

I have little sympathy for adventure seekers who suffer and perish at the hands of Mother Nature on Mt Washington. They have been warned. And if they choose to ignore the warnings, then personal responsibility dictates their peril.
