You're looking to rent a house vs. hotel? And you'll have one or two vehicles? And you're planning on driving into the city (vs. public transit)?
Yes, we are looking to rent a house/apartment/condo as opposed to hotel for two families (9 people). We'll have 2 vehicles and are open to taking public transit into the city.
Not a terrible place to stay--I cannot comment on the exact location you gave, but overall, I think you'll be fine.
As AERules pointed out about parking; it can be a headache around this area. Make sure you have parking going along with your rental.
This area can be hilly and difficult to navigate if you're not familiar (use a GPS!) but some of the views of Manhatten make it worth the stay.
Now here's a few unsolicited tips:
If you plan on doing any shopping, shop on the Jersey side, no tax on clothing!!! Just google "mall", While Jersey used to be great at farming, we now "grow" great malls. Also, there are some great restaurant options in West New York and the neighboring areas. Lots of Latin choices--especially Cuban.
If you are traveling with kids who are picky, the Westside Cafe serves up your normal "American" food--nice breakfast option too.
If you have meat eaters, you should check out Brazeiro Churrascaria which offers up a great "rodizo"--which is an all you can eat meat festival--variety of meats! Must go very hungry!!
This place is also a "BYOB--bring your own bottle". This BYOB is one of the more underrated optons here in NJ. You can bring your own wine and beer and save a great amount of money in doing so. Plus if you're a wine fan, you can bring one of your favorite bottles, and not be limited by the restaurant's wine menu.
