NYS Park System - Entry pass for seniors/disabled?

We will be spending three months in Upstate Western NY this summer with a disabled senior. We would like to visit the several state parks within the area. Does the NY State Park system offer a discount pass for seniors (similar to the Golden Pass for National Park system in the US)? I've found the Empire Pass for $59; however, as I understand it this is just a yearly pass for any citizen. What is the average fee for NY park entrance? Many thanks.

Looks like free entrance to those with disabilities, also seniors on non-holiday weekdays. There is info on obtaining a pass(not available online) here:

Park entrance fees are generally by vehicle, not person, and that is how the Empire Pass helps you out. The day use vehicle fee is usually $6 or $7 in my area of Northeastern NY.

However, if your trip includes Niagara Falls, the Empire Passport will be even more useful. At one parking area near the falls, the fee would have been $18 (and this was in the off-season), however it was covered by our Empire Passport.

Which state parks did you have in mind? There may be forums for those areas where the "locals" could answer your question more completely. Have a great trip!
