Any details to make the advice useful? Amount of time? Day of week? Time of day? Budget? Number of people? Amount of luggage?

Two adults and a child heading to europe for spring break it will be Saturday End of march. We have a good amount of time arrive at LaGuardi in the am and need to get over to JFK , we will have a fair amount of luggage. I read there is a place to store luggage at JFK so maybe we go there 1st then get a ride to some attraction /eating area ?? I am sure we will be reasonably tired but still looking for a way to spend the time. We have been to NYC before, we. Are comfortable with the subway but it. Does not go near either airport does it? More worried about transportation than finding things to do - but would love suggestions for both!

Taxi. Since you still haven't told us anything specific about times, I can't tell you whether you have time to go into the city.

There are only 2 ways of getting between LGA and JFK, a private taxi or a shared shuttle bus. with 2 of you plus a child, chances are the cost of the taxi won't be any more (or maybe just a bit more) than the shared bus and a taxi will be faster.

There's really nothing of tourist interest near JFK but there is train service between JFK and Manhattan so if you have sufficient time (figure an hour in each direction for travel and for int'l flights, they like you to check in 3 hrs. before flight time). So you need more than 5 hrs. to make a trip to Manhattan worthwhile. If you think you'll be that tired, you might want to consider seeing if you can get a day rate at one of the JFK airport hotels.
