Amusement parks

We are a family of 5 Whois are planning a road trip from NYC - Albany - Cape Cod - Boston - NYC. We will make stops in between and have not worked out any details yet. Will visit friends in Albany and Cape Cod. Our kids will be 8,9 and 11, and we are looking for fun things to do for The kids, and don't mind any detours.. We'll be on the road for 3 weeks + 1 week in NYC, arriving June 20th.

Thanks.

Try posting on the road trips forum for some suggestions.

Two possible places along the way would be Old Sturbridge Village in central Massachusetts, and Plimoth Plantation, between Boston and Cape Cod. Neither is really an amusement park, but should be fun for kids.

Six Flags Great Adventure is located in Jackson, New Jersey and is about an hour or so from New York City. Would definitely be a detour for you but the kids might enjoy it.

Rye Playland and Coney Island's Luna Park are two other ideas.

Six Flags Great Escape is in a nice tourist area (Lake George, NY) but Six Flags New England is a much larger amusement park.
