New York/Las Vegas Trip

We are in the very early stages of thinking/planning our next US trip.

We are thinking April 2015. Las Vegas/New York.

Thinking 6 nights in Vegas (we just came back from 7 nights, and think we could happily reduce by 1 night).

And also 5 nights in New York, to make sure we see everything we want to.

Which way round would people suggest doing it? I am swaying more towards New York first, all the sight-seeing etc.

Then finish up in Vegas. Thinking the jet-lag/time difference may be kinder that way, but totally open to suggestions.

Will be speaking to Virgin and Hayes and Jarvis when they release the holidays to price up, but will also price up independently.

What airlines fly direct NY to LV? Or vice versa.

Any advice/suggestions? Also it could potentially be Easter in the UK, does this affect prices? I know it does to typical family holiday destinations, but if it does will consider pushing back.

I don't know what you want to see in New York, but I am assuming you mean New York City. Since you've already been to Vegas, my inclination would be 6 or 7 days in NYC and then 4 or 5 in Vegas if you really want to go back there.

Now ... I want to point out that you posted this on the state of New York forum. If your plan is for NY City, I suggest you repost there for more responses. If you do want to see other parts of the state .... please tell us which parts, what do you like to do and so on.

Thanks that is great, I have done that.

Yes all the touristy stuff really - Statue of Liberty, Central Park, Broadway etc.

We can extend a night in NY if needed, but most people have said 4/5 nights is enough, so thought 5/6 would be ok?
