Friday morning driving

I was wondering which of the following routes would be more appropriate for a planned trip. The ideal time would be a Friday morning around 5:30 am. Does anyone have any helpful advice on which route would be smarter to take?

Thanks

I don't know about mapquest, but google maps lets you pick a specific date and time.

Hi,

Online mapping services typically use the speed limits along your to calculate driving times. This means they don't account for stops for food, fuel, rest breaks or sightseeing, nor do they really account for delays for traffic, road construction, or weather. I would add 15% to 25% onto the suggested driving times depending on your own driving style (e.g., how frequently you stop, whether you obey the speed limit, etc.).

One thing that I do here in the San Diego area is use the Sigalert app on my cell phone to determine which route I'll take home. It updates traffic conditions every 5 minutes, so you have a pretty good idea which routes to avoid by how yellow or red they are on the map. Sigalert covers the NYC metro area, too:

Safe travels.
