My husband and I are making our first trip to the states mid April till the beginning of May this year. Very exciting! We are spending 5 days in New York, 5 days in the White Mountains in New Hampshire and ending off with 3 or 4 days in Boston.
1.What is the best way to spend five days in New York having never been before? We'd like to see all the sights and pack as much in as possible. We would be happy with just a standard hotel that's in a good location as we would be out sightseeing most of the time. Any recommendations or advice on accommodation, things to see, how best to get from JFK to the city, things to avoid etc. would be very welcome!
2. We were thinking that instead of hiring a car to drive to the White Mountains from New York, we would take the train to Boston, hire a car somewhere out of the city centre and drive the last two hours of the journey from Boston to the White Mountains and return the car when we come back to Boston for the last leg of our stay. Sensible option?
