About baggage and trains

Hi,

I'm planning trip from New York Penn station to Washington DC, but all Acela train tickets are with "no checked baggage" - what does it mean? Can I bring baggage onboard or check baggage before leaving?

It means you carry it on board with you. Plenty of people travel with large luggage. There are overhead racks and also floor space for large bags at either end of each car. It's not at all like air travel.

Acela trains are slightly faster but considerably more expensive than the regular Northeast Regional trains. The Northeast Regional trains are fine. Acela is primarily used by businesspeople on expense accounts. The same advice about baggage applies on the Northeast Regional trains.

Is it ok to take onboard suitcase about 20kg size - more than hand baggage?
