Raleigh to IAD - nice places to stay en-route?

Hi

We are coming to Raleigh in a few weeks and we are taking a few days to drive down from IAD through Virginia Beach, Plymouth and then to Raleigh. Can anyone please suggest any places to visit and stay overnight on our journey back up to IAD? Ideally it would be somewhere with a Holiday Inn/Crowne Plaza as I have a free room voucher to use up before the end of the trip! Also we don't want too long a drive back to the airport on the day that we fly home.

Thanks

Sorry forgot to mention that we leave Raleigh on the Sunday morning and fly home from IAD on the Monday evening, so we don't have a huge amount of time!

You will only be about 90 miles to the Virginia border. I would think that you might want to stay somewhere in Virginia. Why not post this in the Virginia formu?
