Blue Ridge Parkway

I will be traveling the length of the Blue Ridge Parkway in mid-July. I am looking for the best hiking trails and coolest B&Bs on the Blue Ridge Parkway or close by. Any advice and ideas are welcome!

Check out the Pisgah Inn and the Little Switzerland Inn. Both are worthwhile, IMO.

Regarding hiking, there are tons of great spots all along the Parkway. Here's a link (if you haven't found it already): http://www.blueridgeparkway.org/v.php?pg=40

Hard to recommend just one, but my favorites include Linville Gorge, Devil's Courthouse, and Waterrock Knob. Good luck!

We would love to have you visit the Blowing Rock area. Blowing Rock is a charming village along the parkway, with friendly people, nice B & B's, dining and shopping. The views are beautiful, hiking trails offer a variety of sights and comfortable surroundings. Come see us.

Just south of Asheville, and past the Pisgah Inn, turn south on Hwy 276....Sliding Rock, Looking Glass Falls, and hike to Looking Glass Rock are there.

Also on the BRP just south of 276, turn off toward Shining Rock Wilderness and hike Black Balsam on the Art Loeb trail....it is a spectacular open bald at over 6000 feet elevation. The Art Loeb trail runs for 15 miles or so, but it crosses the spur road to Shining Rock....pick it up there and go out and back as far as you like.
