To get any sensible answers you need to say what is you budget for lodging and for how many rooms do you need. How many people are traveling? Is your budget $100 or $500 per night?Where do you prefer to stay? Hotels, motels, b&b? What kind of food do you like? What is your daily budget for your meals? Are you looking for breakfast, lunch or dinner places? What are your interests? It is impossible to suggest places to visit in the mountains without knowing what your preferences are. Do you like scenic drives, antiques, window shopping, hiking, biking, museums, waterfalls? Are you coming with kids? Alone? Why did you decide to come to Asheville?

A very, very busy travel weekend, so your options will be limited this late. Trails, attractions will be crowded. We really liked the area around Brevard, but that's several miles from Asheville. Chimney Rock State Park is closer, but it'll be crowded. And maybe hot (if no thunderstorms). Good luck on finding a place to stay.

Its just me and my uncle and we are on a teacher and a student budget. Closer to $100 or under for a room. We eat just about anything that tastes good. As far as budget we may be able to splurge on a couple meals. Looking for scenic drives, possibly some hiking and some waterfalls would be pretty cool. I picked Asheville because it seems nice and its near the blue ridge parkway.

Go to the Asheville sub-forum and search on "lodging", "restaurants", or whatever else you want to know about. There are lots of threads there filled with great info.

Asheville is a great choice--lots to see and do both there and in the surrounding area.
