Which beach area July? Multi generation from asheville

Hi,

We moved to asheville a year ago and my in laws are visiting in July. We would like a week in a condo or villa with a pool.

6 hours max. Drive from asheville.

Good for kids aged 1,7,10.

Some nice places to eat, doesn't have to be fancy but nice quality.

Will everywhere be extremely hot? We would like no mosquitoes if possible.

Thanks !

The closest beaches for you are the Charleston, South Carolina area beaches http://www.charlestoncvb.com/beaches/ ;very nice beaches there....around a 4 hour drive. Any beach in North Carolina will be over a 5 hour drive. For a condo or small villa you may want to start your search in Isle of Palms; the Wild Dunes Resort there has many types of accommodations. http://www.wilddunes.com/

Oh, and about heat and mosquitoes....there's no escaping either along the NC or SC coast...or most anywhere along the southern East coast in July. The good thing about the beaches in July is there's usually a steady wind blowing off the ocean then that helps cool a bit and keeps most mosquitoes off the beach...but not away from surrounding coastal areas.

Yes, I was going to suggest the SC beaches, too. If you can swing something ocean front it's likely to be a little less mosquitoey since there will be more ocean breeze, although if there are lots of myrtle bushes sometimes they like to hang out in there. There are rarely mosquitoes right on the beach, but you may encounter some on your walk back to your lodgings. Yes it will be hot in July. No doubt about that.

Yes, the Charleston area beaches are closest to Asheville, but just for fun's sake I'll also point you to the Wilmington, NC area beaches, just in case you want to flaunt North Carolina and all it has to offer for your visitors. ;)
