Weekday getwaway ideas please?

Hi everyone, my husband and I are looking for a little 2 night getaway with our 4 year old son during the week since he's taking some time off before Christmas. We've already gone to Great Wolf, Kalahari, etc. so we're looking for somewhere romantic, yet not too secluded (we're looking for something in a town so it gives us something to do with our son during the day). I was hoping we could find a last minute deal since Sun/Mon nights are usually not busy, but I'm just not finding the right spot. Ideally it would be somewhere within a 4-6 hour radius of Cleveland. Any ideas are welcome, thanks so much!!! (ps, my son is easily entertained so it doesn't have to have a lot of activities). Thanks again!

Consider Mohican State Park Lodge, with a great indoor pool.

Take a sled with you for your son, perhaps some ice skates, and head to nearby Malabar Farm State Park, which is a working farm that can be explored but it also offers old-fashioned winter activities. Humphrey Bogart and Lauren Bacal were married and spent their honeymoon there.

Nearby Mansfield offers the Richland Carousel year-round.

Loudonville, near Mohican State Park, and the Carousel District of Mansfield offers shop districts for exploration.

Good luck for a fun winterland adventure!

Why not Nemacolin Woodlands Resort just south of Pittsburgh in the Laurel Mountains - they have lots of kid activities and they are very family oriented. Seven Springs is located also in the same area, again they are more family friendly but not as luxurious. Nemacolin has a great spa!!!

Thinking out-of-state, another possibility that would delight your son is Oglebay Park in West Virginia. It offers probably the greatest festival of lights in our region. There also is a large model train display at the Oglebay Zoo.

Wheeling also is the home of the Kruger Toy & Train Museum.
