Where in OK?

I'm thinking about taking my wife to OK for her birthday. She's never been to a casino and wants to go. Where's the best place in OK for this and what else is there to do? We are from Dallas.

Winstar is on I-35 near Thackerville; Riverwind is on I-35 near Norman, OK and there is Hard Rock near Tulsa. All three are recently new and usually pretty active. There is also a casino in the race track in Oklahoma City - Remington Park.

Which do you think is better out of those? What else is there to do around them?

Winstar is large, has celebrity performances often and is close to Lake Murray State Park or Lake Texoma State Park. Riverwind is near Norman, OK that has lots of sites to see: Sam Noble Museum, Lake Thunderbird, andOKC is 30 minutes north with the Riverwalk, OKC Art Museum, Skirvin Hotel, Thunder basketball, Barons hockey, Botantical Garden, Bass Pro Shop all within the Bricktown area. Remington Park racetrack is about 30 minutes north of OKC; the OKC zoo and science museum is close to it. I haven't been to the Hard Rock in Tulsa, but several people have been and say it's fantastic. And Tulsa has numerous places to see and activities to do.

Keep in mind that Tulsa also has a several Casinos. The most popular is The Cherokee, Hard Rock Casino.

Big name acts play on a regular basis, great food in the steak house, and Tulsa has a ton of things to do too from Museums to night life (countless movie theaters, world class aquarium in Jenks, etc.).

We have a bunch of casinos in Miami and Grove, too. Where you go kind of depends on what you want to see and do and how much time you have. Just an FYI....if this is a surprise birthday event or even YOU planning her birthday, you better nail down some other fun stuff to do for her:)

I would suggest the following: stop at the Windstar for a couple of hours on your drive to OKC. Check in at the Skirvin Hotel and take a walk around Bricktown and take her out for a nice dinner. You haven't mentioned a date, but check the Thunder schedule and go see a game after dinner. Several restaurants will let you park and take a limo to the game (for just the cost of a tip). Or take her to a dinner movie at the Warren Theater (www.warrentheaters.com). You reserve 2 tickets in the balcony. Drive to Moore (not far) and begin the most fun movie experience you've ever had. Big comfy sofas, a butler button to order food and drinks, and great ambiance await. Another day, go to Remington Park (as suggested). OKC also has museums, art galleries, outlet mall shopping, great restaurants, baseball, and much more.
