Buffalo sightings

Hi. We are from England and will be travelling around the country in May - June this year. On our wish list is to see Buffalo preferable running free. We will be in Oklahoma around end May and after lots of, apart from Yellowstone, found that they may be seen at Foss State Park. The other place seems to be at Mountain View where there is a tour to see them.

The only place we see them here in England is penned at the zoo and we would love to see them in their own surroundings.

We are comming down from Kansas down and along through Elk City and into Oklahoma.

Any help would be really great.

not sure if the link included the Wichita Wildlife Refuge or Woolaroc. Opposite corners of the state, but both are great options. Wichita is in the Wichita Mountains by Lawton (SW OK). Woolaroc is up by Bartlesville, north of Tulsa (NE OK).

Welcome to the Oklahoma forum. The travelok article lists several right around your, stated, Elk City arrival point. Depending on where you plan to go after that, there are other options not listed as well. Give us your approximate route throughout the state or other things you'd like to see...the Cowboy Hall of Fame, the Oklahoma City Museum and Memorial, festivals, rodeos, etc and we can help more.
