Here's a copy of a post I made a few months back... You could also browse some of the other posts for ideas on places to see and places to eat. Enjoy!

The Western heritage Museum/Cowboy Hall is on NE 63rd Street a short distance west of Eastern Avenue.

https://maps.google.com/maps?oe=utf-8&client=firefox-a&ie=UTF-8&q=national+cowboy+%26+western+heritage+museum&fb=1&gl=us&hq=western+heritage+museum+oklahoma+city&cid=0,0,4849781199640138445&ei=3l-LUpn6Junp2QXGmoG4Cg&ved=0CJUBEPwS&safe=on

And a short distance south of NE 63rd along Eastern Avenue is where Remington Park Race Track/Casino and the OKC Zoo are located.

If you are wanting to see an old Victorian Oklahoma town, head north on I-35 to Guthrie, about a 40 minute drive from downtown. It was the first capitol of Oklahoma, during the territorial days.

Most of the small Oklahoma towns retain a lot of their original charm. You could drive up old Route 66 between Oklahoma City and Tulsa and stop in some of the towns along the way.

You can see the Round Barn in Arcadia

and visit Pop's:

And stop in Stroud for the winery and food

You don't have to go all the way to Tulsa, but it might be worth some time to go part of the distance.

Or just head to the north side of OKC and visit Edmond for an afternoon:

Goof luck!

For history you could do a lot worse than Guthrie, the territorial capitol, and Route 66, the "Mother Road."

There is a world class rock climbing facility which was made in an old silo complex call Rocktown Climbing gym. Here is their website, http://www.rocktowngym.com/

.

If you're looking for a fine dining experience with breathtaking views, you may want to check out Vast which is on the 50something floor of the Devon Tower-which is the tallest Oklahoma building built within the last two years. The food is awesome but it comes at a high price.

.

If you like American football, an all time favorite Oklahoma pastime would be to take in a college game at OU (Oklahoma University) in Norman or at OSU (Oklahoma State University) in Stillwater. OU and OSU both have home games Saturday before Thanksgiving.

.

If you like Hockey, OKC has a hockey team, the OKC Barons. Their schedule isn't posted yet. Their website is www.okcbarons.com

.

OKC Thunder basketball team may have a home game while you're in town.

.

If you want to check out Tulsa..

.

Tulsa has a professional women's basketball team, The Shock.

.

If the weather is nice, Tulsa has a great trail system at the River Parks which has probably 25 miles of paved separated biking/walking trails. And nearby is Turkey Mountain which offers several miles of easy to moderate hiking.

.

If you like Museums, Tulsa has Philbrook and Gilcrease museums. I haven't ever been to Gilcrease. But, Philbrook has more than art to offer but is located in a mansion with great architecture amid a well manicured lawn with wonderful gardens.

.

If you enjoy animals, at Woodward park in Tulsa you can bring a bag of unroasted-in the shell peanuts and the wild squirrels will take them right out of your fingers. But get there early before they get full.

.

If you like to gamble, there are several casinos around the Tulsa and OKC area.
