I've mentioned the Forest Center a couple of times. The website is http://www.tillamookfrestcenter.org unfortuently the website IMO does not do justice to the center. Located in the forest the center has coast range views with frontage on the Wilson River. The displays depict the forest ecosystems, lots of displays about the Native American forest use, how the settlers gradually began to harvest and travel through the woodlands. Displays on logging practices, extensive diplays on the Tillamook Forest Burns of the 1930's and 40's, on the reforestation projects and on the current Tillamook Forst plan. The Forest Center is on Oregon Hwy 6, the Wilson River Hwy about one hour west of downtown Portland, RV parking is available. Nice restrooms and snack bar available.
I hope a few of you local experts will have an opportunity to stop in. I do not work work there but I do live in the area.
