Oregon RV Trip Aug 1-9! Looking for good suggestions!

Hi there!

We are a family of 5 (3 kids ages 6, 4, & 2) renting a 30' RV from Sacramento with the hopes of checking out Oregon!

We are from a beach town so we weren't planning on focusing our efforts on the coast unless it's must see.

Currently we're thinking about this itinerary:

Aug 1: Leave Sac -> stay in Lake Shasta (Antlers campground) We pick up the motorhome midday so don't want to drive too far - esp since we will be coming from SoCal the day before.

Aug 2: drive to Crater Lake, eat lunch and hike a bit, then stay in Bend. We already booked Crown Villa RV Resort for 3 nights

Aug 3: Crown Villa RV Resort, Bend

Aug 4: Crown Villa RV Resort, Bend

Aug 5 - 6: We have friends in Lake Oswego that we were hoping to see... I can't seem to find a decent RV park or campground nearby. We wanted to use these days to do day trips to Portland, Multnomah Falls, and possibly Tillamook? Too much? Any recos on where to stay? We're open to anything!

Aug 7: stay near Eugene? Is there anywhere cool near there?

Aug 8: stay in Ashland

Aug 9: drive back to Sac.

Any thoughts or help would be great! We're open to changing the whole itinerary but we really want to take advantage of our time in Bend so that's probably staying put! We are trying not to drive too far for the kids sake and actually enjoy where we are rather than try to 'see it all!'

Would really appreciate your help!

Thanks!

Annika

Hi, I've been RVing many years all over Oregon. We've stayed at Crown Villa several times, but there is not much for young children to do there - no pool and if your kids get to running around, expect to be frowned upon! It is conveniently located though.

There aren't any RV parks near Lake Oswego. The closest *nice* one would be Pheasant Ridge in Wilsonville. It's a Good Sam 10-10-10. There is Roamer's Rest on Hwy 99 but it is quite old and the spaces are narrow. NOTE- their website seems to have been corrupted, so use caution!

Here is a list of RV parks in the Portland area:

There is a nice RV park in Eugene:

You might also like to consider Canyonville; it's about an hour and a half south of Eugene. Great RV park there:

There is an RV place called Pheasant Ridge in north Wilsonville. It is a block or so from Costco/Starbucks/Target on the east side of I-5 at exit #186. It is a short drive to LO from there, and you can take either I-5 or take the backway to get to Stafford road and come into LO from there.

Hi there,

We will be welcoming you to a chchchilly Oregon at that time of the year. But if you don't mind chilly and you come prepared with lots of layers of clothes you will love it here.
