Oregon Coast Visitors Association

Unless you like spam, do not submit any info to this organization's website - Oregon Coast Visitors Association.

I requested a brochure to be sent by snail mail and next thing I know I am receiving several emails a day from inns and locations which I have absolutely no interest in. No privacy policy there at all.

Pop, I am sorry for your experience. I haven't had that problem yet.. I would just un-enroll and toss it as spam.

What questions can we answer for you?

There is no "un-enroll". They have already distributed my email address to every one of their members! Sent them a message a week ago about their privacy policy and have not had a response.

Just don't use them unless you like getting spam!! Sorry but I am very upset about this. Even at the point of reconsidering my entire travel itinerary. I don't have any questions. I just wanted the brochure so I could consider places to see. I don't spend lots of money on places to stay at so I don't want spam from high end inns. I don't play golf so I don't want spam from golf courses. I simply want to plan my own trip, in larger measure using TripAdvisor.

You are seriously considering not going to the Oregon Coast because you think your email address was sold? That would be a real shame. The Oregon Coast is a place of amazing natural beauty.

I think you are directing your anger at the wrong place. CALL the Oregon Coast Visitor Association and let them know how you feel.

Absolutely, though my wife might over-call me on that. Lots of good, beautiful seaside and mountainous places we can spend our money at in Canada.

They did not sell my address. It appears to be a private organization and they shared my address with its members.

If they can't be bothered to respond to my posted message on their website, they are not worth a phone call and don't deserve good press.

Okay. Enjoy your travels in Canada then. I agree that it is a beautiful place. I was born in Alberta.

I am so disappointed to hear this! I "always" recommend www.visittheoregoncoast.com on TA. I use it personally, but have never requested a brochure. I did look this evening and do see where you can download the brochure online....but too late for our Canadian friends. Dang! From now on, I'll recommend the site but give a warning about not requesting anything!!
