Hwy 22 between Salem and Sisters is a very good road that's an easy drive. Other than some easy uphill portions, you won't even realize you're going through a 5,000 foot altitude mountain pass. No steep drop-offs or narrow, winding sections -- it's nothing at all like some of the roads in Colorado's Rockies. Car sickness should not be a problem on this highway.

I find if you sit in the front seat and chew on ginger candy or ale it helps. It doesn't make it go away but it helps put off onset and duration. It's an old sailors remedy.

If you've driven Hwy 58 between Eugene and central Oregon, you'll have a good idea what 22 is like. If anything, 22 is an even easier jaunt!

Going down from Santiam Pass to Suttle Lake might bother some, not real curvy but some drop-offs. Would help to know a road that bothers you. Durango to Ouray??
