Centralia via Shartlesville from CT

We are planning to visit Centralia, PA, possibly in March. We will be stopping in Shartlesville, PA, to eat at Haag's Hotel (been going there for years). Would anyone be able to make any lodging recommendations for this area (between the 2 towns)? We used to stay at The Fort in Shartlesville, going back over the past 16 years, but our last time there was not so good - very run down and creepy. We would appreciate any tips. Thanks!

Why are you visiting Centralia? There's absolutly nothing there! Just about everything has been torn done. It can't even be thought of as a ghost town. The only thing there is the US Post Office & Fire Station, a cemetary and roads to nowhere. While you are in Shartlesville you should visit Roadside America, a huge HO train layout. I can recommend the Pine Barn Inn in Danville. It's right next to the Geisinger Hospital. There are numerous other name brand places to stay near I-80. Just don't pick the Days Inn.

There really is nothing to see in Centralia...AND, you will find no signs to direct you to it, as they really don't want visitors. We insisted on finding it once but it was a waste of time & gas.
