50th bday trip for sisters in July

I am posting this question in a few forums b/c I don't really know where it belongs. Here's the situation: my sister is turning 50 this summer and my 2 other sisters and I would like to take her away for a night in July. We range in age from 28 to 52 years old.

The sister whose birthday it is like antiques, food, shopping, and museums. One sister comes from Virginia, I come from NYC, and the other 2 come from Westchester. We'd like somewhere we can all drive to, and hopefully a compromise for all distances. We have thrown out Philly or New Hope, PA as possibilities, but are desperately looking for others ... any ideas??? Bed and breakfasts? Towns? Cities? Locations? ANYTHING!!!

You should consider Doylestown. It is about 15 minutes from New Hope and Lambertville. It's a charming town (the Bucks County seat) with many shops and restaurants. There are several excellent museums: The Michener Museum, the Mercer Museum, and the incredible Fonthill mansion, and the Bavarian Tile works. Also in the New Hope area is Sand Castle winery. Here are some links:

Lambertville is your best bet for antiquing, though there are some shops along Rt. 202 between Dorlestown and New Hope.

For more shopping, there is Peddlar's Village and Penn's Purchase outlets, both in Lahaska, midway between Doylestown and New Hope.

Or the Brandywine Valley, about an hour southeast of Philadelphia.

There are some really outstanding restaurants in the area, as well as lots of shopping and great museums. Plus Longwood Gardens, a world-class outdoor garden and indoor conservatory.
