Rhode Island Fall Foliage October 26th 2013

Hello! Planning on driving up to Rhode Island from New Jersey for a fall foliage weekend!

Questions:

Do you predict that it may be too late in season?

What' the best route to drive from NJ to RI?

What's a good town to visit - Newport?

Places to stay?

Thank you so much!

THat is the best time for foliage here. Newport and Jamestown would be the best, most scenic places to visit. The Merritt Parkway from 287 and the Tappan Zee to New Haven is a popular alt route, will be very scenic too., as opposed to the craziness of I-95.
