Affordable 200$/night waterfront hotel near charleston

I'm traveling in June with DH and kids ranging from 20 to 7. The older ones want to do lots of watersports/kayaking and the youngest is happy with a beach. Hubby and I are old and tired and just want to have a convenient "base" for our trip to the Charleston area. Myrtle beach seems like it might just be too touristy/crowded.

Thanks

Look into the Isle of Palms & Folly Beach, each about 20 min from historic downtown Charleston. Kiawah Island, 45 min from Charleston , Edisto Island, about an hour from Charleston. Charleston Harbor Resort, on the Charleston harbor in Mt Pleasant, 5 min from historic downtown Charleston. Shem Creek Inn in Mt Pleasant, 10 min from downtown. (this one is a short walk from a kayak/ paddle board rental shop & several restaurants) Some of these are on water, but not the ocean.

You're going to be hard-pressed to find your rate, for waterfront, in June, that's peak season.

Not sure if you're interested in hotel or condo/villa/house, but sounds as if you need at least 2 bedrooms (you don't state how many people, hotel rooms max out at 4 persons).

As Endo mentioned, look at Folly, but pretty sure you won't find waterfront at that rate, a block or so from the beach might be doable.
