I'm planning to travel with two others to Custer this October, probably arriving on the 8th and staying in the area a few days. We have been to Custer several times but never this late in the year so my question is; will most of the stores and other activities still be open or do they shut down for the winter?
My interests are photographing Wildlife and Landscapes but I have to share time with two other people that enjoy small shops, dining ,caving etc.. We went to the Roundup about 3 years ago and of course it was very busy, hard to find hotels without reservations but was told after the Roundup several shops closed for the season. I'm hesitant to keep planning for Oct 7 to 14 if my traveling companions will be disappointed.
