Stop over from San Antonio Texas to Keystone South Dakota

We don't like to drive more than five or six hours at a time. Plan to drive to Amarillo then looking for a second stop for the night.

See what you get for replies, but I would also recommend posting this question on the road trips forum. The people on there are excellent at mapping out trips covering large areas.

It depends on which route you want to take. If you take the most direct route on 287/160/385, there's not a lot of good choices for overnight stops--sparsely populated areas. If you take the slightly longer route on 87, the halfway point (at slightly over 6 hours from Amarillo) is Denver. That would be the logical area to overnight.
