I see that restraunts in Tennessee are given grades. We live in Ny and just take for granted that the place is clean and passed inspection...what is this about in Tennessee? Can anyone just clue me in on this so I'm not afraid to eat when we go there!

All that is is the state Department of Health inspection scores. Gives the public an idea of how a restaurant is. As in NY, if they don't pass, they will get shut down if the issues are not corrected. I believe it's required to have them post their scores in public view. I usually see them on the wall by the registers.

You will be fine, but here is the DOH website so you can research any particular restaurant. Just type in as much info as you have and it will show you the score and the inspection details.
