One Hop DSM to Houston, and then where, for Xmas break

Our family is thinking of spending a week somewhere warm and it's only one flight from DSM to Houston but after that, not sure where we'd go. Where would we start to look for about a week of R & R [2 older teens] that is interesting also.

San Antonio!! You could either take a quick flight or rent a car and drive.

The Riverwalk is gorgeous at Christmas and you can find some hotels with heated pools.

Depending on your teens, you could take in a Spurs game (they'll be at home then) or some fantastic shopping at any number of malls. And there's always the usual tourista stuff...

And, you mean "warm" as in "warmer than Des Moines", right? It's not exactly beach weather about then... my recollection is that it's in the upper 50's - lower 60's duing the day.

AH YES, we did San Antonio a few years ago and enjoyed it quite a bit...so unfortunately, we're looking for something else....not that San Antonio doesn't deserve more than one visit, just that we try to find new places....thanks for the idea tho
