Avoiding Spring Break 2013-Corpus Christi

I want to visit relatives in the Corpus Chrisit area for a week or 2 in the month of March, does anyone have the official Spring Break 2013 dates? I would like to avoid that time, if possible, or at least make sure I have a week when I can visit the beach without throngs of people.

Octoboy's dates for San Antonio cover most schools and universities in Texas. You can always avoid the Spring Break crowds by visiting the beaches in the Padre Island National Seashore. As a national park, there is an entrance fee as well as strict control by Park Rangers, therefore most of the SB crowd avoids the beautiful beaches of the park.

From the Padre Island National Seashore website:

There are no public RV hook-ups anywhere in the park, but an RV dump station and a water filling station are available for all campers staying in the park.

Check out time for Malaquite and Bird Island Basin is 12:00 noon.

Camping is permitted only in the five camping areas listed below. Please click the link for the individual camping area for more details.

Malaquite Campground

Bird Island Basin

North Beach

South Beach

Yarborough Pass

I would call the ranger station for more specific advice.
